Conditions
The following conditions apply for all consignment items.
Items must be:
In sellable condition
Clean
Clothing ironed
In working order
Meet Australian Safety Standards
(Standards available in store).
Consignment Items
Items are put into the store for sale for a period of 3 months.
Cots, cradles, prams and rocking chairs are put in the store for a 6 week period. This time period may be extended if there is room in the store or if there is minimal stock that is similar.
Selected items are put on sale after 2 months at a reduced price of 20%.
Little Darlings staff will price all items.
Once items are coded a consignment report is available on request in store. This report provides the detailed description of the items, whether the items have sold and what the consignment customer will receive for payment if sold.
It may take up to 4 weeks for your consignment items to be processed and put in the store for sale.
Little Darlings may choose not to place particular items in the store if it is deemed they are not likely to sell. Ie style may be dated, clothing too worn etc.
The store has limited space for larger items and may not have floor space for your particular item at any given time. We suggest you call before bringing the item in.
If there is not sufficient space in the store your item will be put on the waiting list and you will be contacted when space is available. Items are also sold off the waiting list when customers request specific items we do not have available in the store. At this time you will be contacted and asked to bring the item in to sell.
Online Sales
Selected items are also put on line to sell prior to the scheduled return date.
Online selling costs will be deducted from the percentage the consignment customer will receive.
Payment
Consignment customer will receive 50% of the sale price.
There are three options for payment
- cash under $50
- direct deposit into your nominated account.
- credit on your nominated card in store.
Customers can be paid as their items sell or wait to build up their consignment account and be paid at the end of the three month period.
Requirements of picking up goods
You will be given 3 dates when consigning your goods.
6 week date – Large items
4 week date- this requires the consignment customer to check if there is any returns (items deemed not suitable for resale).
5 month date – Items that were removed from within the store that did not sell. Items are required to be picked up at this time.
Prams, Bassinettes and Cots will be given a 6 week date of pick up. Depending on the stock levels for these items calling prior to 6 weeks is advisable as the store may be able to have the item in the store for a longer period if there are limited items of the same type.
Items that are not picked up by the specified dates will be donated to Little Darlings chosen charity. Notice will not be provided prior to this occurring.
Little Darlings has minimal storage therefore strict pick up dates are required.
